Top Reasons Why You Should Consider Adopting A Dog
63
Have you ever visited an animal shelter and watched sad eyes follow you around the room? Did you stop and wonder if they were wondering whether you will be the one to save them from their cage and take them home? It is extremely sad to see animals that have been neglected or abandoned. If you have thought about adopting a dog but are not quite sold on the idea, here are some great reasons why you should adopt a new puppy.
Need A Friend?
When you adopt a puppy from an animal shelter, you are adopting more than just a pet to care for, you are bringing home a faithful and loyal companion. A dog will never judge you for things that you have done, and they will return any love and affection that you give to them. If you are in need of a friend who will always be there for you, day or night, then you should adopt a puppy.
Be A Hero
Saving a dog from a shelter is a remarkable act of kindness that they will always be thankful to you for. Dogs know when they are not being treated right, and they know when someone is treating them with love and affection. It is truly sad how many animals are put down because they were born into unfavorable conditions. It is not their fault that a person has abandoned, abused, or neglected them. Unfortunately, they are the ones who end up paying for the mistakes of humans who thought they could raise a dog. You could save a dog from possibly being put to sleep, which is a very rewarding feeling.
Guardian
Rescued animals are perhaps some of the most well behaved animals around. You would think that this would be the other way around. That the animal would be mean and angry at humans. However, it is almost like they know what you have done for them and return that kindness. Rescued puppies can be trained to be the greatest animals with kids because they know what it is like to be abused and will often times be more protective because of that.

Right Desicion For You?
Do you have time in your day that you can spare? Can you afford the financial responsibility of a dog? Are you a patient person with a big heart and extra love to give? Are you ready to make a lifetime commitment to your new friend? If you answered yes to these questions, then you are the perfect type of person to save a dog. You will never regret your decision because every time that animal looks at youwith their big thankful eyes your heart will melt.

Very good hub! I think everyone should have a dog. They are great companions for young and old. With all the dogs that are in shelters, adoption is the only way to go. Thank you for the information, maybe someone will adopt a dog for a Christmas present. Voted up and following. :)
Very well done and an excellent subject to write about. Very helpful tips and info. Nice work
Awesome post! I definitely agree. The only dogs I will ever get will be from shelters. There's too many sweet pets out there that need a good home!
Great message and cause. I see you do have a thing for dogs!
Mireland19, A couple of years ago, I had some free time, which I used to take shelter dogs out for walks. I could take 1 to 2 dogs out at a time, for 1/2 hour. Additionally, I used to play inside with the kittens.
My kitten is a cat who was abandoned. Gusty (Augusta Sunshine) is absolutely adorable.
Thank you for sharing, etc.,

Great Hub, I am a dog lover and we adopt our dogs. My pal is an Akita/Shepard, he was three yrs old when adopted.
He has been a wonderful friend and watch dog for the past seven plus years. He loves his family and the family loves him. Thank you for being a Pit Bull owner, they are wonderful pets in the right hands. I will always try to save the animals in the Shelters.
